Introduction to the Nepali Language is a free, open-access textbook for learners, educators, community organizations, and heritage speakers interested in studying Nepali. Developed at the University of British Columbia with support from the OER Affordability Grant Program, the resource offers a structured introduction to Devanāgarī script, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and everyday communication. Organized into 17 chapters, it supports the development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through exercises, audio-supported learning, interactive activities, and cultural insights. Designed as a living and adaptable resource, the textbook will be freely available through Pressbooks and will continue to evolve through user feedback.
